City of Navasota Comprehensive Wastewater Treatment Study consisted of an inventory of existing facilities, operational methods, flow data, test results, planning documents and maintenance records with base mapping of the sewage treatment plant site and adjoining tracts; studying biological/chemical mass and hydraulic characteristics of the influent to evaluate the system demand and project five-, ten-, fifteen- and twenty-year future demands; identifying and evaluating State and Federal regulations, administrative practices, policies and ordinances in relation to future projects; evaluating on a component-by-component basis Navasota’s ability to treat current demand with existing facilities within regulatory requirements; providing a model that addressed the system’s current and future growth requirements with alternative designs considering method, space, cost and future regulatory requirements; outlining a capital improvements program and preparing a report with results, findings and conclusions. The study resulted in a 1.800 MGD Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion funded by an Economic Development Administration Program grant.
